Having Melvor Idle as $9.99 USD on all available platforms allows for consistency, and also allows me to put the game on sale regularly. Some have even alluded to it as being a scam. Keen eyes can go through reviews of the game, only to find negative reviews noting the fact that Melvor is free somewhere else. I also need to ensure the change to the monetization model of Melvor Idle was consistent on all platforms. Updates are developed to ensure they work on all platforms, and mobile generally delays update timelines due to what is required on those platforms. Mobile takes up a lot of our time in terms of UI, bug fixing, support and testing. With 67% of all Melvor Idle players being on Mobile, it is not sustainable for me to continue supporting these platforms without a major change to how revenue is generated. This means for every player that downloads Melvor Idle, only 3% choose to remove ads. On top of this, the conversion rate for free mobile players purchasing the Remove Ads IAP is sitting at a very low 3%. The Web version makes up for the other 9%. For the free versions of both mobile apps combined (Without considering the IAP), this is less than 1% of annual revenue. Although this is generally okay, the free versions of Melvor Idle are responsible for no more than 10% of annual revenue generated.
