You will be presented with two options:.Now choose "Greeting Cards" in top menu bar.Once you have uploaded both images (one for the front and one for the back) click the "Start Upload" button.Or you can click "Select Photos" and navigate to where the files are located. You can choose to Drag & Drop the photos from your desktop to this screen. This simply means you own the images and you haven't stolen them or they aren't copyrighted images that you don't have the right to print. Select "I agree" from the next window. If you have downloaded the JPG files to the desktop you will choose "Upload photos from my computer." The pop-up box will allow you to choose where your photos are saved. You might find it helpful to save them on your desktop so you can find them quickly. If you don't have the two JPG files I sent you downloaded and saved onto your computer take a minute to do so now. This is the step where you will upload your photos to the website. You will need to be a Costco member to do so. If you don't already have an account on Costco's photo site now is the time to set one up. Choose "Sign In / Sign Up" from the upper right corner. You do a need a membership number to create this account. You will be prompted to either sign in or create a Costco Photo Center account before you can design your own card. Note: You are required to have to be a Costco member to place an order on their website. I would recommend using a laptop or tablet over a phone for ease of navigation. And their site has a lot of info about using the profiles. If you've never printed a custom card design before and are feeling a little hesitant on your tech ability then read on for some step-by-step instructions for Costco Photo. If a particular printer isn't included in their database they'll send you a target file and instructions for getting that printer profiled. Free profiles for Frontier and Noritsu printers are available from Dry Creek Photo at I did find I had to use a custom profile for that printer to get good color. I was surprised with the high quality of even the 12x18. I've used our local Costco Noritsu printer to get 8x12 and 12x18 prints made form my G2. Prints are more expensive, 57 cents for a 4圆 and $4.99 fo an 8 1/2 X11. It's simple to use, fast and the color quality is good. When I've need to get prints immediately I've been pleased with the Sony print station at Kinkos. All that said, at 19 cents for a 4圆 and $1.99 for and 8x10 you can't beat their price!! It's very possible you may have to make two trips in order to download your images and pick up your prints. Check with your local Costco to see what their schedule is. Unlike the typical Costco 1hr processing, it appears that they only download and print digital images at intervals during the day. The only downside is that it took 24hours to get my prints. I also liked that each print had it's file name printed on the back. They also included an 4圆 index print for free with my order, nice touch with respect to maintaing your fiiles. Costco prints showed good color accuracy. I've been pleased with the output from both sources. I live in San Francisco and have made prints from my G5 at both Costco and Kinkos (my local Kinkos has a Sony print station). Much appreciated.Īlso what is the optimal print size to get on a 4Mp picture without I live in Orange County CA and if any one has an suggestion onīetter print places without the high price. Machine and Walmart uses Fuji Map Finish I totally don't know I've called and Costco says they use Fuji paper on a Neuritsu I thought I sample a dozen first from both places.Ĭan some one please give me their opinion on those two locations. I'm about to take my 4Mp pictures from my G3 to get printed for theįirst time. Again, you will see this topic mentioned in the "printing" forum. Also, you may want to "profile" your images first to make sure that the colors you see are the same colors printed, and this requires some adjustments on your part depending on what type of machine they use. There are many other messages which discuss this. One thing you might want to do though is search on this forum or the "printing" forum on "Costco" or "Walmart". I'm sure you could get good 5x7s as well, I never tried 8x10 or bigger. I can't tell you about those places, but I live in Torrance and I take my G3 prints to Walgreens where they use a Frontier 370 w FUJI glossy paper and the 4圆 prints come out just as I see on screen.
